The caller ID is also known as caller display and displays information about who is calling on the phone's screen when the phone rings. If the caller is in your phonebook then the cordless telephone will often display the name that you have allocated to that contact which is a nice way of seeing who is ringing. If the caller is not in your phonebook then the cordless phone will often display the phone number that is calling and this is still very useful as it alerts you of cold calls and unwanted calls.
